Not Old Enough to be Old
W H Berry was a star of the musical theatre stage in the early 1920s who's career lead him
into film and recording. The majority of his work was in musical comedy and he was a master at delivering comic
songs to best effect. His records are quite hard to come by in the present day, but his name has come back to public
notice thanks to the appearance of Sir Tim Rice on the BBC's Desert Island Discs, where Sir Tim chose the song
"Not old enough to be old" which underlines the classic dilemma of people reaching middle age.
