Al Bowlly was the best of British singers in the 1930's and when, as in the selection presented here, he was fronting the finest of British Orchestras there was little competition anywhere in the world. All of the tracks on this CD were recorded in London between July 1932 and May 1934 and were released on the HMV label. He recorded widely with many bands and there is no better place to read about his career that in the book: "Goodnight Sweetheart" by Ray Pallett, ISBN 0-946771-60-X
